Infused Syrups
Making syrups at home has never been easier.
1 C water
2 C cane sugar
1 handful fresh mint leaves
1 whole vanilla bean {or 1 tsp vanilla bean paste}
On low-medium heat, place a saucepan on the stovetop. Add water and sugar. While stirring frequently let the mixture heat until the sugar is fully dissolved. Slice the whole vanilla bean down the center to expose the essential oils while cooking. Then add the vanilla bean and mint leaves to your syrup, simmer on low for about 15 minutes with a lid on your pot. Turn the stovetop off. Remove mint leaves with a slotted spoon, allow your simple syrup to cool with the vanilla bean left in. Once cooled, blend the simple syrup to infuse the vanilla bean completely. Pour into a glass bottle. This syrup will stay fresh in your refrigerator for 2 weeks. Enjoy!
