Before I ever had children, I knew I was going to be a homeschooling Mama. I knew nature would play an integrative role into our learning paths. I knew that I wanted to teach my children to live in diverse situations and connect with the world around them. IN this way, I made the plan to be broad in our education!

Into Nature,

There is an endless list of activities you can do outdoors and learn from too! From exploring rocks, stones, and other Earths materials to exercising and building strength, outdoor education is extremely important and in fact necessary for little minds to learn from. Here is a list of our favorite outdoor educational activities.

OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES

  • Scavenger hunt - teaches independence and constructive thinking

  • Hiking - promotes good lung health and builds endurance

  • Foraging - creates an understanding of our Earths resources

  • Bike riding or Scootering - enables a healthy mind and body

  • Photography - provides a sense of gratitude and appreciation for our world

  • Rock collecting - learn about science through Earth material

  • Free play - paves a way for a child to learn how to slow down and enjoy life

Local resources,

From libraries, to parks, and your local YMCA, there are many ways to utilize your local resources while being a homeschooling parent. Personally, we are frequent users of our local library. Within this outlet we have the ability to create connections that are safe and encouraging. As one of my favorite quote's states,

Books are the plane, and the train, and the road. They are the destination and the journey. They are home.
~Anna Quindlen

Utilize these resources and make a connection. Not just for you, but for your children too!

Get creative,

You would be surprised what you can find to do for lessons today! There are truly so many different ways we have the ability to teach our children. To keep them excited about learning and always craving to know more so that they may accomplish great things in their lifetimes. We are that true connection for them to be led in that direction. It is absolutely our sole job as parents whether homeschooling or not to provide to our children the correct path to lead them to be only great people in this world!

Lessons do NOT have to be bound to a curriculum book. They don't have to be bound to a computer. Let your creativity and your child's creativity {because we all know how much they have} blossom together!!

We love experiments, cooking together, gardening plants we can harvest and eat, and so much more! The opportunities are endless. You are given a path to truly explore many facets of learning this life has to offer. I am so thankful to be a homeschooling Mama. To have such a privilege is not one to take lightly, it is a great responsibility that I accept in all seriousness, and I hope you will too!
